PiCs Lots 1 thru 120013. IRLAND PIPE WRENCH CO. - BOSTON, MASS - PAT JULY 7, SEPT 23, 1903 - OCT 3. 1905" - - 15.5". Advertised as "The Irland Automatic Pipe Wrench". Uses a spring-loaded lever underneath the handle to open the upper jaw, which closes automatically. Patents were issued to David Irland of Chicago. Some markings light, some not readable, Good+. 0014. BRAND / PAT. NO. 221027 - - 12.5" spring assisted self adjust wrench patented by Oscar Becklin of Los Angeles, Calif. Described in the patent as a bolt, nut, and pipe wrench. Probably mfg. by the Balin Tool Co. of Las Angles, Calif. Different handle than seen on other examples. Good+, over cleaned. (not in Schulz) PAT
0015. 14" MAGNUM TOOL CO - PAT PEND / MUESCO - HOUSTON, TEXAS - - 14" self adjust wrench with a pivoting, spring loaded upper jaw that can be set to four different notches on the handle. 0078. THE WATERBURY WRENCH CO. - PAT. APPLIED FOR WATERBURY, CONN. - - 5" combination quick and screw adjust bicycle wrench with a spoke wrench on end of handle. A design patent for this wrench was issued to John C. Ives of Waterbury, Conn. on 8-24-1897. Some spots of corrosion on plated finish. (S112) PAT
0079. Unmarked - - 4.75" center screw adjust wrench. This is a rare variant of the uncommon Capitol wrench with the brass open frame handle instead of the hollow round handle more often seen. 0080. PREMIER - 7 - POPE MFG. CO. - - 4" side screw adjust bike wrench with sleeve type handle. Excellent with most of the original plating. This wrench and the next two were made for the Pope Mfg. a pioneer American bicycle manufacturer from Cleveland, Ohio. They later built several different automobiles. (not listed, no info)

0084. VICTOR - OVERMAN WHEEL CO - CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS - PATENTED JAN 6, 1891 - - 5" center screw adjust with ruler markings on the shaft (hollow handle, exposed on one side variant.). Patented by John Stanley of Coventry, England. The Overman Wheel Co. made "Victor" bicycles. Excellent with most of the original plating. (S101) PAT
0085. SAMPSON - MFD. FOR E. ARNSTEIN - CHICAGO USA / PATENTED NOV 13, '00 - MAR 11, 'O2 - - 5" side adjust bike wrench. A 1904 Eugene Arnstein Catalog #34 proclaims that they were the "Largest Bicycle and Specialty Supply House in the World". Judging from the patent dates the wrench was evidently made for Arnsteinn by Mossberg. First one seen. Good++. (not listed) PAT and PAT

(1.) Marked only PAT. DEC 9, 1930 - - 11" wild combination tool invented by Nathan Jenkins of Chicago, ILL. Over twelve tools including: a hammer, hatchet, vegetable peeler, ruler, saw, file, bottle, jar and can openers, screwdriver, nail or tack puller. The patent papers show a cork screw which evidently was not incorporated in the actual tool. Of all these tools the ruler may be the only one that could actually be used. Excellent plating, hatchet blade has been ground.

(1.) Unmarked - - 5" with eight sliding adjusting shims. Slightly longer and narrower than the marked examples seen.
